Welcome to the blog, Kristi. We’re so glad you could join us today. Congratulations on your new novella in The Christmas Heirloom. This collection looks soooo good! 🙂

When and where did you first get the idea for “Legacy of Love”?

When Karen, Sarah, Becky, and I started looking for a piece of jewelry to pass from mother to daughter in our Christmas Heirloom collection, we discovered the Luckenbooth brooch which carries with it a legend of love, fidelity, and loyalty. Love that defies all odds and sense is the heart of the true story of Christmas and I wanted to write a couple that embodied such a love.

Oh, I love that! What a fun premise for a novella collection.

What do you love most about your hero and heroine in this story?

They’re just so cute! I’ve always loved the secret crush exposed idea as well as the thought of a wonderful woman hiding in plain sight. Writing their story was such a joy for me, I grinned at their adorableness the entire time.

What was the last book you read and what will you remember most about it?

I just finished Just the Way You Are by Pepper Basham. I simply loved her turn of phrase and engaging characters. Right now I’m part way into Kara Isaac’s Then There Was You and I cannot believe I’ve never read a Kara Isaac book before. I see a major reading binge in my future. I’m enjoying it so much. In fact, I may cut this interview short so I can go back to reading.

I wouldn’t blame you if you did! 🙂 I’m a big fan of both of them!

What’s one of your favorite things about being an author?

Readers!!! I love getting letters, meeting people in person, and hearing the stories of how books enrich people’s lives.

Can you tell us something readers might be surprised to know about you?

At this point I have no idea what would surprise people. Possibly that I have a competition Reality TV competition. I love the Great British Bake-Off but I’m also fascinated by the idea of Big Brother and the way people handle those situations.

I’m intrigued! Gotta know more. 😉

Thanks for sharing, Kristi. Is there anything else you’d like to add? Any upcoming projects you can share with us?

The story of Haven Manor continues in February, with Daphne and William’s story, A Return of Devotion. Daphne’s had so many twists and turns in her life that I’m excited for readers to see how she handles that.

Fun! Looking forward to it, Kristi. Thanks for joining us!
