Wrapped in Red – My Review

wrapped-in-redIf you’re not in the holiday mood yet, I guarantee you will be after reading Wrapped in Red. This story really fits its title, wrapping you up in all of its sweet nostalgia, Christmas spirit, and love in the December air.

Our leading lady, Merry, is struggling to find her place and letting go of serious trust issues. Her life isn’t perfect, but she has an adorable support team in her family and an inner strength that I admired in her. As soon as Sam enters her world, her life gets even more complicated and confusing. Sam is one of those guys you just can’t help but like. He’s genuine, friendly, and even at times a little awkward (aka adorable). πŸ™‚ He brings his own fears and family issues to the table, paving a beautiful spiritual journey in the end for both of them.

Sometimes, I have to admit, novellas aren’t my cup of tea, but this novella contained everything I look for and enjoy in a full-sized novel. Its romance melted my heart. Every setting was painted so well. And the lessons for the characters (and readers) had such a depth of grace and trust that I will carry the memory of it for a long time.

Merry and her family reminded me of the strong, vivid families like I’ve read in a Julie Lessman or Melissa Tagg novel. They’re a bunch of imperfect people with an unbreakable bond. Add in a festive backdrop for every scene and charming dialogue too. It’s the perfect package – Wrapped in Red – for your reader’s heart this Christmas. Don’t miss it!

I bought a copy of this book and voluntarily reviewed it. All views expressed are my honest opinion.

ABOUT THE BOOK:

A Steel City holiday romance sure to melt your heart.

The holidays haven’t been the easiest for Merry Grainger. Five years ago, she lost her grandfather and got dumped by her boyfriend right before Christmas. Each season since sees her determined to avoid getting hurt again, and so she keeps a steel-like grip on her hopeless romantic heart.

Music used to soothe Sam Shepard’s soul until the death of his biggest cheerleader broke his heart, family, and dreams into pieces. Now he’s focused on thriving in the city, and with the people, he’s grown to loveβ€”all to keep the hole in his heart from opening anew with every passing holiday season.

Thrown together by a church play and meddlesome family armed with mistletoe, will Merry and Sam unwrap their guarded hearts to let in the true hope of Christmasβ€”and each other?
