Welcome to the blog, Kaitlin. Congratulations on your recent debut release, Atoning for Ashes. We’re thrilled to have you here today!

What first inspired this story?

I’ve always loved marriage of convenience romances, and I also love the Regency Era. I suppose it was inevitable for me to write a marriage of convenience romance set in the Regency Era! However, the story itself was inspired by the idea of a heroine sacrificing everything for her loved ones…only to find the man of her dreams amidst the process.

What do you love most about your hero and heroine?

I love Josie’s sense of selflessness. She loves deeply and without condition. I also love her courage…in the name of love, she makes many sacrifices and takes great risks. I love Charles’s tender side. I love his sincerity even in raw moments. He possesses courage too…the courage to change. I admire him very much for that. Both of my characters share a hunger for God that takes them far as individuals and as a couple.

Ohhh, I can’t wait to meet them! 🙂

Name a book that greatly impacted you.

Naming just one book will be hard for me, but I will give it my best shot! Outside of the Bible, a book that greatly impacted me greatly was The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom. I’ve re-read it many times, and the powerful message of faith and forgiveness never ceases to amaze me.

What is one of your most unforgettable moments from your writing career to date?

There have been so many glorious milestones on my publishing journey that started with the unforgettable moment of signing my first publishing contract with Deep River Books. Another truly unforgettable moment was getting an endorsement from Laura Frantz. She is one of my favorite Historical Romance authors of all time and getting an endorsement from her was a dream come true for me!

I LOVE Laura Frantz! Not only is she one of my favorite authors too, but she is one of the kindest people I know.

If you were to give a tour of your home state, what would be your first stop and why?

This is such a great question! I dearly love my home state of Maine. If I were to give anyone a tour of my home state, our first stop would be Acadia National Park. It is my favorite place in the world because in my eyes it is the most beautiful place in the world. On a visit to Acadia National Park, you can go to the beach, explore the winding trails along the coast, listen to the pounding surf at the Thunder Hole, go on a hike, view the sunset from Cadillac Mountain, and so much more!

That sounds amazing! I’ve never been to Maine, but would love to visit there someday. Thanks for joining us, Kaitlin!! Have a blessed 2019!
