Welcome back to the blog, Kate. I’m so excited to have you here today!

Savanna, I’m happy to be here and thank you for allowing me to share time with your readers!

Which of your books proved to be the most fun to write and why?

It seems every book has its challenges, but I really enjoyed writing my second novel, Not By Sight. The storyline was much lighter compared with the WWII Holocaust setting in my first novel, and I had fun writing the interaction between my characters.

Ohh, I loved that one! It’s probably my favorite of yours, but I’ve loved them all. πŸ™‚

What’s one of the strangest things you’ve had to research for a novel?

Years ago I was working on a ranch story and had to research the step-by-step process for a breech-birth calf delivery. The closest I’d ever been to a cow was in the meat and dairy sections of the grocery store, so I found that research very enlightening.

Haha! I bet you’ve never looked at hamburger the same way again, huh? πŸ˜‰

What book(s) are you in the middle of reading right now?

Aside from research books, I’m listening to the audiobook, Unbroken, by Laura Hillenbrand, the remarkable story of Louis Zamperini, Olympic runner and WWII Army Air Corps bombardier, who struggles to survive some pretty incredible war-time circumstances. I’m always inspired when I read about the strength of the human spirit!

Oh wow! That sounds amazing. I hadn’t heard of it before now. I’ll have to check it out!

Do you have a favorite book of the Bible? If so, can you tell us why it means so much to you?

My first choice would be the Book of Esther, not only because it’s a beautiful love story, but it was also the seed that grew into my first work of inspirational fiction as a writer. Through Queen Esther’s story, I was offered a more intimate understanding of God, and it helped to deepen my Christian faith.

What is one of your most unforgettable moments from your writing career to date?

Oh, Savanna, without a doubt it was the night my debut novel, For Such A Time, won the 2015 Carol Award. πŸ™‚

I’m still so happy for you! It was well-deserved! Just wish I could have been there to give you a hug in person. πŸ˜‰

Is there anything else you’d like to add? Any upcoming projects you can share with us?

I recently returned from a trip to Barcelona, Spainβ€”one of the settings for my fourth novel with Bethany House, scheduled for release in spring of 2019. This latest WWI story will include at least one character from Not By Sight, along with more British espionage, romance, and I hopeβ€”a few extra surprises!

Oh yay!! I can’t wait to read it. And what an amazing trip that must have been. I’m jealous. πŸ˜‰

Thank you so much for joining us today, Kate. It’s a joy to have you here. Have a blessed holiday season.

Thank you for hosting me today, Savanna. It’s been my pleasure!
