Welcome back to the blog, Kathleen. I’m so glad to have you here today. Congratulations on your upcoming release, The Pirate Bride. I can’t wait to read it!

What do YOU love most about the hero and heroine in this story?

I love that while neither of these two expected where their lives would end up, they both made the best of the journey.

Did you discover anything surprising while researching for this book?

I discovered I could make a deadline even during a hurricane, Hurricane Harvey, to be specific. While the wind and rain blew outside my Houston area home, I finished this book.

That’s incredible! Sounds like this story has taken quite the journey to get here. πŸ™‚

If you could go out to lunch with one of your fictional characters, who would it be and why?

Maribel, my Pirate Bride heroine, would be so much fun. She’s a bookworm who dared to sail with privateers. Who wouldn’t want to chat with her?

I know I would! πŸ˜‰

Can you share with us a piece of writing advice that helped you in your career?

See point #2. Write no matter what’s happening around you. Wanting to write will never get a book done. Nor will talking about writing or taking classes, attending writer groups, etc. Just. Write. Even if you feel like what you write is nothing but junk, put words on the page. A little bit every writing day adds up to a lot.

So true. So important.

What’s something your readers would be surprised to know about you?

I turned down a date with Lyle Lovett in college.

Really? Wow! My husband and I saw him in concert a few years ago. πŸ™‚

Is there anything else you’d like to add? Any upcoming projects you can share with us?

I’m very excited to be part of a cozy mystery series –along with eight other amazing authors–called The Secrets of Wayfarers Inn, which will be debuting in May. Purchase information for that series can be found very soon on the Guideposts site at www.shopGuideposts.org. Then in July I have another full-length historical romantic suspense, My Heart Belongs in Galveston, Texas, releasing with Barbour books.

You’re a busy woman, Kathleen. πŸ™‚ That’s all very exciting. I’ll be watching for those new releases. Thanks so much for joining us today!
