Welcome to the blog, Kristi. We’re so glad you could join us today. Congratulations on your new novella in The Christmas Heirloom. This collection looks soooo good! 🙂
When and where did you first get the idea for “Legacy of Love”?
When Karen, Sarah, Becky, and I started looking for a piece of jewelry to pass from mother to daughter in our Christmas Heirloom collection, we discovered the Luckenbooth brooch which carries with it a legend of love, fidelity, and loyalty. Love that defies all odds and sense is the heart of the true story of Christmas and I wanted to write a couple that embodied such a love.
Oh, I love that! What a fun premise for a novella collection.
What do you love most about your hero and heroine in this story?
They’re just so cute! I’ve always loved the secret crush exposed idea as well as the thought of a wonderful woman hiding in plain sight. Writing their story was such a joy for me, I grinned at their adorableness the entire time.
What was the last book you read and what will you remember most about it?
I just finished Just the Way You Are by Pepper Basham. I simply loved her turn of phrase and engaging characters. Right now I’m part way into Kara Isaac’s Then There Was You and I cannot believe I’ve never read a Kara Isaac book before. I see a major reading binge in my future. I’m enjoying it so much. In fact, I may cut this interview short so I can go back to reading.
I wouldn’t blame you if you did! 🙂 I’m a big fan of both of them!
What’s one of your favorite things about being an author?
Readers!!! I love getting letters, meeting people in person, and hearing the stories of how books enrich people’s lives.
Can you tell us something readers might be surprised to know about you?
At this point I have no idea what would surprise people. Possibly that I have a competition Reality TV competition. I love the Great British Bake-Off but I’m also fascinated by the idea of Big Brother and the way people handle those situations.
I’m intrigued! Gotta know more. 😉
Thanks for sharing, Kristi. Is there anything else you’d like to add? Any upcoming projects you can share with us?
The story of Haven Manor continues in February, with Daphne and William’s story, A Return of Devotion. Daphne’s had so many twists and turns in her life that I’m excited for readers to see how she handles that.
Fun! Looking forward to it, Kristi. Thanks for joining us!

Oh wow! That would be amazing. Yes, I agree… there’s SO many I’d love to meet and thank! Glad to see you stop by, Barb. Good luck in the drawing!
Yes I have met Mary Alice Monroe.
I’ve not heard of her before. I’ll have to check out her books. 🙂 Thanks for sharing, Becky!
Sounds like a great story. Thank you for the chance to win.
Doesn’t it look like a fun read? Good luck in the giveaway, Mom! 😉
MANY years ago an author came to our church. He wrote about space and God. It was so intriguing. Our son was with us and he was a young teen. He was fascinated. We took him to meet the author after his talk. The author took time to talk to Richard and answer his questions about God and space. It was so special. Richard still has the book so I forget the authors name and the title of the book now. Richard is now 33 years old.
This book sounds so wonderful. I would love to read it. Thanks for the chance
Oh, I love this. What a kind man! And what a special memory too. Thanks for sharing, Lori.
Yes! I’ve met many authors at the ACFW Conference. This novel sounds so good. I love Kristi’s writing!
I love her books too, Cynthia! I’m so glad WE met at ACFW all those years ago. 🙂 Hugs, friend!
I have never met an author but would love to have a conversation with many of the wonderful Christian fiction authors. This is a wonderful group who participated in the novella collection.
Yes, I love all these authors in this collection. So excited to see them come together for this book. Good luck in the giveaway, Cathy!
No, I have not met an author. But if I could meet an author, I would like to meet Mary Connealy.
Aren’t Mary’s books great?! 🙂 I saw Mary last month at ACFW and she is SO sweet and welcoming, even to new writers such as myself. Love her! Hope you get to meet her someday too, Kathy!
I have met Wanda Brunstetter, it was a thrilling experience.
Thank you for hosting this giveaway.

How fun! Thanks for sharing, Wendy. Good luck in the giveaway!
I haven’t met any of my favorite Christian Fiction authors: Roseanna White and Kristi Hunter and Sarah Sundin are among them. Lots more, too! But I have met Paul Meier, A Skeleton in God’s Closet. He came to speak at our Church a few years ago.
I haven’t met them yet but two CF authors live in my small town. I am virtual friends with lots of authors on Facebook and goodreads.
Isn’t it wonderful that we can connect with our favorite authors online now? That is definitely one positive thing about social media. 🙂 So glad you stopped by, Paula!
I have never met an author. I would love to meet Kelly Irvin as I love her Amish fiction stories.
I’ve not met Kelly, but I hosted an interview with her earlier this year and she was so sweet. Hope you get the chance to see her in person someday, Merry. Thanks for visiting!
I’ve met quite a few authors in person but the one who took my breath away is Charles Martin and I have the picture to prove it.
Thanks for entering me in your giveaway.
Oh wow! I have some of his books on my shelf and I’m eager to read them. One author I met this year that made me sooo nervous was Tamera Alexander. I LOVE her books and she was so kind in person too!
Face to Face meet? Nope, not yet, 😉 I think I’d like to spend time with either Jen Turano or Kristy Cambron though (I’d LOVE to take them to tea with me and my mama 😉 ).
I do correspond with a hand full of authors though, (those two on the top of the list). 😉
Having tea with them would be SO MUCH FUN! Love that idea, Amada!
I love authors and the talents they share. I have met many…Lisa Wingate, Paula McClain, Julie Cantrell, Pattie Henry, Carrie Pagels, Ann Gabhart, Kellie Gilbert… the list goes on and on.
What a great list, Melanie! Thanks for sharing.
I’ve met Savannah Kaiser! I was a few feet from Karen Kingsbury but the line to meet her was so long that I didn’t wait!
I LOVED getting to meet you, Joan!! We should do it again sometime. 🙂 Hope you get to meet Karen someday too. 🙂
I’ve never met a author. I would like to meet Ann H. Gabhart.
Ah, yes. She seems like such a sweet lady. Hope you get that opportunity someday, Connie. 🙂
I have not met any authors but I think it would be nice to meet Jen Turano and tell her how her books make me laugh.
That would be so fun!! I visited with her briefly at the last ACFW and she is AWESOME!
I had the opportunity to attend BookCon2018 and got to meet many authors. Two of them were Omar Epps and Sarah Price. It was nerve racking. I did not know what to say.
Haha, I can TOTALLY relate to being nervous around favorite authors. They’re usually so kind and gracious, despite our nerves. Gotta love ’em! 🙂
I have met several authors with my book club: Deborah Raney, Judith Miller, Nancy Moser, Stephanie Grace Whitson, Nancy Mehl, Kim Vogel Sawyer, Rene Gutteridge, and Deborah Vogts. We have Skyped with Tamera Alexander and Meg Mosley and talked via phone with Ace Collins.
That is wonderful, Pam! Your book club sounds amazing!!
Two of my cousins, Zach Bartels and Erin Bartels, are authors, if that counts. 🙂 I would love to meet so many authors such as Becky Wade, Melissa Tagg, Cara Putman, and Denise Hunter to name a few.
Yes, they count!! 🙂 How cool to have authors in your family, Kerri. 🙂
Two of my cousins, Zach Bartels and Erin Bartels, are authors if that counts. 🙂 there are so many authors I would love to meet such as Melissa Tagg, Denise Hunter, Cara Putman and Jodi Hedlund to name a few.
I met Markus Zusak–and he was freaking awesome! Like, even though he’s hugely popular and famous and everything, he was so down-to-earth and humble and just really nice.
Isn’t it neat to see these people in real life and discover they’re normal just like the rest of us? Love your comments, Adrienne. Sounds like a fun memory!!
I would like to meet Jacob Whaler my favorite Sci-fi Author. Thank you
When you do, be sure to get a book signed! 🙂 It’s always fun to have something to take home with you.
I’ve never met an author and there are so many I would love to meet!! I’ve chatted with a few though!
It’s so neat when you can thank them in person for what their stories have meant to you. Hope you get that chance someday, Paty!
Thanks Savanna, I really hope so!!
I can’t say that I’ve ever met an author but I so have several signed book copies. I would enjoy meeting an author one day.
Signed books are the BEST! 😉
I knew Kristi Ann Hunter before she was “famous”. Does that count? 🙂
Haha, definitely!! How fun is that?! 🙂
I don’t remember meeting any authors. (And I have met 1 actor John Inman). I love Kristi’s books.
I’ve a question will A Search for Refuge (Haven Manor): A Haven Manor Novella be in print sometime?
I would love to meet Kristi, Sarah Eden, Heather Brown Moore,Heidi Ashworth, Anita Stansfield. And many more.
I don’t know the answer to your question, unfortunately, Kathleen, but be sure to visit Kristi’s site for more info. Thanks for visiting!!
A couple years ago I got to meet Terry Brooks! He was speaking at a bookstore near me, and I got an autographed book for my husband because he loves his stories!
What a great gift for your hubby. Love it, Karen!
Haha, Karen is my sister and I also met Terry Brooks because she was in state visiting when he was here. I just went along, so not an author I read. I don’t think I have had the pleasure of meeting an suthor I enjoy in person yet, but perhaps zomeday!
Sorry about the spelling errors above! I forgot to add an author I would have loved to meet is Louisa May Alcott, but a modern day author that would be fun to meet is Sarah M. Eden.
Ohhh, I love that you both stopped by! 🙂 Wouldn’t it have been incredible to meet Louisa May Alcott?! I completely agree, Laura. Thanks for sharing.
I would love to meet Melissa Tagg, Karen Witemeyer and Jen Turano!
I’ve had the honor of meeting all three of them and they’re just as fun in person! Hope you get to visit with them someday too, Megan. Good luck in the giveaway!
I met Julie Klassen last summer when she spoke at a town less than an hour away. She’s the first I have spoken to personally (though as a shy elementary student I may have spoken my name to Bruce Lansky when he signed my Girls to the Rescue book).
How fun! I always get excited when authors do speaking engagements nearby. Thanks for sharing, Rachael!
I’ve met Lynne Gentry. She is a delight!
How cool, Caryl! 🙂
I haven’t met any of the authors I love to read, yet. I would really like to attend a conference where I could meet lots of my favorites in one place.
Yes, conferences are great for that. The Christian Fiction Readers Retreat is another great opportunity for meeting LOTS of authors. 🙂 So glad you stopped by, Connie!
