Welcome to the blog, Sarah. I’m so excited to have you here today. Congratulations on your recent release, All of You.

Tell us about Jacquelyn and Michael. Why do YOU love these two characters?

Jack (Jacquelyn) is strong woman who doesn’t really care what people think of her. She’s also not afraid to fight for something important. Being a people-pleasing push-over myself, I really admire those qualities in her.
Michael is special to me because he gets knocked down and stripped by life but through everything he never turns his back or blames his troubles on God (which is what I’ve seen a lot of in fiction). He struggles, yes, as we all do, but he still chooses to trust. As a Christian, I relate to his journey.

Can you share a favorite quote from All of You?

β€œYou have to fight back even if you’re only weapon is living, not in darkness but in light.”

Ohhh, I love this!

What was the last book you read and what will you remember most about it?

Then There was You by Kara Isaac. I’ll always remember how the book made me grin (great RomCom!) and the feeling of satisfaction and contentment as I closed it at the end. Totally feel good read.

Can’t wait to read it! πŸ™‚

You recently won a Selah award for your book, Finders Keepers. Congrats, by the way!! πŸ™‚ Tell us what was running through your head when you found out the exciting news?

I was sitting on the couch with my kids and watching the Facebook Live video of the ceremony on my computer while my kids watched something on TV. When they said my name and that I had won, I literally burst into tears, and I’m not a crier! I was shocked and overjoyed, to say the least. My 5-year-old asked me why I was crying so I told him mommy won an award in a contest for her book and he patted me on the shoulder and told me good job.

That is priceless! So sweet too. πŸ™‚

Can you share a recent Scripture verse that impacted your life?

β€œMay he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever! Amen.” Hebrews 13:21

When I get stuck in the pit of comparison or self-doubt or insecurities or even just lose focus and start obsessing with sale numbers or reviews, this verse helps me put it all back into perspective.

A great verse. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Is there anything else you’d like to add? Any upcoming projects you can tell us about?

There will be two more books in the Carrington Family series, but I felt pulled and called, both by the characters and by God, to write a contemporary β€œinspired by” Esther story. It’s really been different because the story has been writing me instead of the other way around. I’m loving the story and the characters and they are stretching me and taking me to new places, in my personal journey and in the craft of writing. Anyway, I can’t wait to share it with everyone!

Sounds wonderful! Looking forward to it. Blessings to you and yours, Sarah! Thanks for joining us today.
