Hi Karen! Awww, I so wish we lived closer and could connect easier. :) I LOVED your story! Isn't it amazing how God uses the unexpected to speak right to our hearts?! Praying He blesses your work and your heart. Can't wait to learn more about your stories too. Thanks for joining us here.

Your words (and your dedication) make me smile, Melissa. I'm gonna have to practice that kind of typing myself. ;) Thanks for visiting!

I'm getting there. Someday I will.

I'm glad to inspire a little nostalgia in you. I think you indulge in too little of it with all your practicalness.

I love how we can relate to each other's stories. An empathetic heart makes us better writers, I think.

My husband certainly doesn't say "Write a book" from the pulpit. He preaches about it in a lot of other ways though. Once, fairly recently, he preached "If God called you to do something a long time ago, and you haven't done it, your calling hasn't changed." I know regardless of who else's toes got stepped on with it, that line was totally meant for me. Since my husband is indifferent to my writing aspirations (I'm sure he'll support me when I get down to business), I have know doubt those nudges are heaven sent.

First, I'm very jealous that you have an such an active and encouraging group of fellow writers! If only I weren't on the other side of the state. :-) Second, your story is intriguing, Andrea. You must persist to publish! I look forward to meeting your characters. And finally, I love the story you shared about Moses and his stick. I had a similar experience...a book idea only my hubby and BF knew about and one I had wrestled with for years (while teaching English full-time and raising babies). In a sermon a guest pastor challenged us to have the courage to do the thing we know we are called to do. He listed a few of those things--change a job, end a damaging friendship...write a book. Who says "write a book" from the pulpit?! I distinctly remember my hubby and BF snapping their heads in my direction. I knew it was time to write. -- I don't mean to "take over" your story here...just love relating to it and want to share with you why your story meant so much to me! Blessings on your writing journey!

Yep, Write! Even with the baby zonked on top of your chest and you can barely see the keyboard as you lean back to keep them from waking up. Gotta write. :) And you make me miss the Ozarks..... :(
