Savanna:Â Â Welcome to the blog, Colleen. I’m so honored to have you join us today. Congratulations on your newest release, All is Calm, All is Bright. What a beautiful cover!
Which character from your newest release are you most excited for readers to meet and why?
Colleen: Oh gosh, it’s so hard to say. There are two novellas in there, and I love both the heroines. I think it would be Delilah in All is Bright. I really loved her in the first Hope Beach book, Tidewater Inn, and I had fun exploring her backstory. I especially love the ending. 🙂
Savanna:Â Who was one of your earliest supporters who encouraged your writing dream?
Colleen: Oh definitely my husband! There were many times I would have given up in the long seven years to publication, but he keep encouraging me to keep on working and facing those rejections. It’s hard in the early years when believing in yourself is so difficult. You really need someone to lift you up when you’re in the ditch.
Savanna: That’s awesome! And so true. Husbands are the best! 😉
As the CEO of ACFW, do you still recall your very first conference? Can you share with us something special you remember about that early experience?
Colleen: ACFW conferences are the highlight of my year, but my first conference (on scholarship) was a small regional one in Muncie, Indiana at Ball State. Until that time, I’d never even met another writer, and I thought I was all alone with these characters in my head. At the Midwest Writers Conference I found out I wasn’t weird. 🙂 It’s one of the reasons I’m so passionate about ACFW. Community is so vital to a writer. We spend a lot of time alone, and we need to find that writing soulmate. Would you believe author Denise Hunter and I have been brainstorming and editing each other’s work for 17 years? And I’ve made many more great friends at conference every year. This year at ACFW I told everyone not to take what we have for granted. The people God brings into our lives through our writing change us forever. Diann Hunt was one of those for me. We lost her to ovarian cancer in Nov 2013 but she changed me.
Savanna:Â I’ve heard so many wonderful things about Diann. Wish I’d had the chance to meet her. Thanks for sharing that, Colleen.
Can you tell us what is one of your favorite book covers? You have so many pretty ones!
Colleen: Aren’t they awesome?! I have a great team. I love The Inn at Ocean’s Edge and also The Lightkeeper’s Ball. I would like to own that red dress on the cover!
Savanna: I know! It’s gorgeous! 🙂 If you had to pick one place from your travels to revisit, where would it be and why?
Colleen: Maine! I adore the rugged coastline and the scent of the sea. And all the lighthouses. 🙂
Savanna: Ah, that sounds beautiful! I would love to see that someday. 😉
Is there anything else you’d like to share? What project(s) are you currently working on?
Colleen: I’m working on Twilight at Blueberry Barrens, book 3 of the Sunset Cove series.
Savanna:Â That sounds great, Colleen! Thanks so much for being with us today. Happy Thanksgiving!

I’m thankful I have a close family, especially since we lost our mom suddenly Sunday. This will be a very different holiday season. She and Dad raised us right, and we all have faith we will see her again.
Oh, Pam, I am so sorry to hear about your mom. My heart and prayers are with you and your family. So blessed to read how she and your dad raised you in truth. May God hold you closely this week and always. Sending you a big hug!!
We are getting together with our kids and grandkids this evening and then with my extended family on Saturday. I’m looking forward to a quiet peaceful day tomorrow. I hope to settle back with a good book to read. Winning one of Colleen’s books to read later would be great!

I love Colleen’s books. She’s had a few that I don’t read late at night when I’m alone (I save them for daytime) but that just shows how good she is with suspense. I haven’t read one of her books that I didn’t love. Thanks for interviewing Coleen Coble
I know what you mean, Barbara! 🙂 So glad to meet another fan of Colleen’s. Have a blessed weekend! And good luck in the drawing!
