Savanna: Welcome to the blog, Rachelle. I’m so happy to have you here! And congratulations on your newest release, The Sound of Silver. I LOVED the first in the series and can’t wait to read this one!
When and where did you first get the idea for the Steadfast Love Series?
Rachelle: Thanks so much for having me here today, Savanna! I love your first question, because the idea for the whole series came while I was driving. Well, maybe I shouldn’t say for the whole series. Here’s what happened: A song I was listening to on the radio inspired the title of the first book. I wrote the first book, but when I finished it, I realized to my great frustration that the characters weren’t done with their story, even though I had been quite adamant that I would write a stand-alone novel. But the story wasn’t finished, so I kept writing.
Savanna: I’m so glad you did! 😉 I know readers often pick out favorite quotes from a novel. Do you have a favorite of your own from The Sound of Silver?
Rachelle: Yes! In fact, my friend Mindy, a calligrapher, even created a beautiful piece of art from one of my favorite quotes: “Within the pages of books one’s heart can be revealed.”
Savanna: Beautiful and true!
Can you tell us what first drew you to writing Inspirational Historical Romance?
Rachelle: My first exposure to the genre came when I read Heartsong Presents novels when I was twelve. Those small books introduced me to how much I believe in the power of story, especially love stories set in times gone by.
Savanna: 2015 has been a busy year for you with your first two releases! 🙂 Can you tell us one of the moments you’ll remember most from this special year?
Rachelle: Holding my book for the first time was a big deal! I remember the boxes coming in, then sitting on the couch with a copy in my lap, just staring and realizing I was beaming a bit… 🙂
Savanna: I don’t blame you! 😉 They’re beautiful. What a special moment!
I saw on your website that you also write reviews, articles and offer editing services. What’s one of your favorite things beyond writing novels that you enjoy?
Rachelle: Editing is such fun! I daresay I enjoy editing a page full of my own (or others’!) words just as much as I enjoy splashing words onto a blank page.
Savanna: That’s really cool, Rachelle. I’m so excited for you and thrilled to have you here with us today.
Is there anything else you’d like to share? What project(s) are you currently working on?
Rachelle: I’m really excited about all that 2016 may hold! My third book, the last in the Steadfast Love series, releases the day after Valentine’s Day! Beyond that, time will tell 😉
Savanna: Can’t wait! Be sure to keep us posted. And I hope you have a blessed Christmas season!

So happy to be here, Savanna. Such thoughtful questions and a fun host. Thank you! 🙂 Merry Christmas! (I can finally say that, yes, since it’s now the first?) 🙂
I had so much fun, Rachelle. You’re welcome here any time. 😉 Merry Christmas to you too! (It’s never too early in my opinion!) 😉
There has been so much this year! I have really enjoyed getting to review read so many books (including Rachelle’s), publishing short stories, doing several mission trips, building a house with my family…this year has kind of all been a highlight!! 🙂
That’s wonderful, Amanda. Sounds like a very full year! I hope 2016 is full of blessings too. 🙂
Personally I’ll remember my college search this year . It’s been kinda and I still don’t know, but God’s got a plan. 🙂 Anyway, I’d love to read these books and I love the covers!
Hi Rachel! Isn’t it wonderful to know God’s plan is perfect, even when we don’t know what it is yet? It always brings such peace to know He directs our steps. I hope he blesses your path! Merry Christmas!
Hey, Rachelle, LOVE your covers (and titles), girlfriend, and the books sound great! Of course, I always love WhiteFire books — they certainly know good writing, so SUPER CONGRATS on landing a trilogy with them!
Hugs,
Julie
Thank you, Julie! Since I love your books, I loved reading this comment! 🙂
Hi Julie! Seeing you here always brightens my day! 🙂 Merry Christmas!!
Rachelle, love these covers! And this quote, “Within the pages of books one’s heart can be revealed,” is the theme song for every avid reader. Love it! Thanks for the giveaway! O, my answer. This year, many awesome things happened. I guess the most memorable is the move to my current home. It was freezing cold, but I still thank God, because the following weekend, we were hit with the biggest snow storm in many years. Isn’t God amazing?!!?! And recently, it is the chance to have my whole family with us for Thanksgiving! That was memorable and special. Thank you forthe giveaway!
Hi Annie! Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing. Glad to hear about God’s perfect timing with your move. And I’m glad you had a happy Thanksgiving too. 😉 Good luck in the giveaway! And Merry Christmas!
The way my father recovered after being told he would not survive at best a couple of months and maybe only a couple of days. We were also told he would never be able to get out of bed and walk even with his walker. God is so good.
What a blessing, Jan! Yes, God is GOOD! 🙂 Thanks for sharing. Hope you have a wonderful holiday season!
Rachelle, I am really looking forward to reading your series!
I think what will stand out most from this year is our trip to Gatlinburg and Smoky Mountains National Park. Our youngest is 3 years old so this is the first time we’ve gone on vacation and didn’t have a stroller or baby carrier! We loved hiking the easier trails and doing the auto-tour.
Hi Beth! Ah, I LOVE the Smoky Mountains. My hubby and I honeymooned there and have been back several times since. It’s a vacation spot that’s hard to beat! Thanks for visiting!
I love mystery and historical fiction. So this sounds like something I would enjoy!!! Have a Merry Christmas!!!
I’m sure you would, Lisa! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by. Good luck in the giveaway and Merry Christmas!
What’s something special you’ll remember from this year?
Hmm. I am going to have to say the journey to starting my blog and the success I have had with it. 🙂
Hi Sydney! I didn’t realize this was your first year blogging. Wow! You’ve done a great job. I love your site! Hope you have a Merry Christmas and another great year of blogging in 2016! 😉
Congrats Rachelle on your newest release! Savanna, thank you for introducing me to another new-to-me author.
Something special that I remember about 2015 is spending time with a couple of friends and getting to know them better.
Hi Caryl! I highly recommend Rachelle’s books to you. I have no doubt you’d enjoy them. 😉
And I’m glad you got to connect with some dear friends over this past year. There’s nothing quite like spending time with your kindred spirits. 🙂 Merry Christmas!
Congratulations, Rachelle! What a big year for you. I love editing as much as writing, too. There’s something about polishing and pushing for the best that is addicting.
Hi Sondra! I’m so happy to see you stop by. I know you’re a busy writer too. 🙂 Have a Merry Christmas and good luck in the drawing!
I will remember going to my son’s international FLL Lego Robotics tournament. It was a wonderful
Becky
That sounds like fun, Becky! What a special memory. Good luck in the giveaway!
A bucket list trip to New England with my daughters!
Awesome, Joan! There’s no way you’ll forget that. 😉
Beautiful covers. Anxious to read your book!
Hope you get to read them soon, Bonnie! 🙂
Congratulations!!! A very good memory was moving my daughter home from college in May. It was wonderful having her back home. Of course come August she moved back, but I knew this would more than likely be our last summer with her at home. Precious memories.
Ah, Katrina, that is such a special season of life. Thanks for sharing that with us. Hope your daughter is enjoying her time at school. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Receiving medical help. COngrats on the book.
I’m glad to hear that, Kim. Blessings to you this Christmas!!
God led me through an unexpected hard time this year, and for that I’m very grateful. Christian fiction has comforted me many timed. The ispiring messages are wonderful. Excited to read this series!!
Hi Diana, I’m sorry it’s been a rough year for you. So glad, though, that God has encouraged your heart through stories. Have a blessed Christmas!
Something special that happened this year was my first born started driving. Talk about a shock. Where did the time go? I cherish every new milestone with my children, but also wish it took longer to get to those milestones. So thankful for my children.
Your comments made me smile, Heather. Time does fly by too fast sometimes. 😉 Thanks so much for visiting. Hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas!
The short bio you wrote about Rachelle Rea sounds like she would be a great character for a contemporary romance. Congratulations, Rachelle on your release.
Love that, Barbara! What a cute idea! 😉 I think you might be right!
My husband working in NY on a dairy farm for six weeks while I stayed in SC is memorable. The best parts of that were visiting him one weekend and him coming home a couple weeks ago!
Thank you for the giveaway! I always enjoy reading your interviews and expanding my author base.
Hi Katy! So glad you stopped by. 🙂 And I’m glad you and your hubby have been reunited. 😉 Hope you all have a Merry Christmas! Good luck in the giveaway too!
I have been reading about this series and am looking forward to reading it myself – I would love to have my own copy to start off with 😉 ! Thanks for this great give-away!
Soli Deo Gloria!

Thanks for visiting, Kyrie! I hope you get to read this series soon. It’s so much fun!
Taking trips with family is such fun too. 😉 Thanks for sharing.
Love your sign-off, btw. All glory to God, absolutely!!
Forgot to mention something special from the year!
Probably a trip I took with my family recently. We went to visit someone in a neighboring state, and made some interesting memories along the way!

I suspect one thing I’ll remember is that I read and wrote more book reviews than I ever have in any previous year. I also have won a number of books in giveaways this year. I’d love to add at least one more to the list. 🙂
Your comments made me smile, Edward. That is SO great. Here’s to reading LOTS more GREAT books in 2016, right? 🙂 And good luck, again!
P.S. Do you have a blog where you post your reviews? I’d love to check it out.
I’ve been reading Rachelle’s blog for awhile so it will be fun to read her books. I really can’t think of a “special” thing to remember this year, but it will be memorable because my mom died recently. I have a strange mixture of joy because she’s out of pain and with Jesus, but sadness because we all miss her. No matter how old we are, there are times when we just need our mom!
I’m so sorry for your loss, Pam! <3 I hope this Christmas season is one of joy amid the grief. (Hugs)
Pam, you and your family have been on my mind and heart so much lately. Praying you feel the Lord’s comfort during this bittersweet time.
Something special for this year, my husband’s job change! We can see God’s perfect timing in everything. My husband is so much happier & has a new outlook on life. Just like a puzzle, God put all the pieces together 🙂 He is an amazing God and takes such good care of His people.
Thanks Rachelle for taking time to do an author interview. I so enjoyed it! Savanna, this is a short comment for me (as you know I tend to write longer ones, lol) but that doesn’t mean I didn’t like reading your post. I ALWAYS do 🙂 Blessings to you two ladies!
Hahaha, Trixi! I don’t care if your comments are long or short… they’re always fun! 🙂 So glad to hear your hubby is enjoying his new job. God is so good!!
Hope you’re having a blessed December so far. Take care and see you next time! 😉
Seeing my son graduate from BMT (USAF) and become an American Airman has been one of the proudest moments I have ever had! And that first hug after him being away for 7 1/2 weeks and hardly no communication…wowza!!!
Wow! What an incredible accomplishment and special memory for you and your family, Anne. Thanks for sharing! Blessings to you all!
This past year I saw my oldest (16) start college and my youngest start high school. After years of home-schooling, I think I had the hardest time with it, but both of my children entered these phases in their life with courage, grace and aplomb.
That’s such a huge step, Terrill! I’m glad to hear your kiddos are adjusting well. 🙂 Hope and your family have a Merry Christmas!
I wish I could reply to each and every comment here (as Savanna is fabulous at doing!). 🙂 Ya’ll are amazing and I’m so glad ya’ll visited and left notes! Such heart and feeling here. Thank you all!
Thank YOU, Rachelle, for visiting and commenting as you have. It always means a lot to us when the authors take the extra time to chat. 🙂 (I just finished The Sound of Silver, btw. LOVED it! Writing my review today.) Have a great week!
I bet it does–I know as a blogger how powerful a well-placed comment can be! 🙂 So strange and neat to be on this side now, as the author. 😉
Oh, goodness, yay! Means a lot to me that you loved it! Can’t wait to read your review! 🙂
These books look really good. I can’t believe I’ve never heard of them before!
Aww, J.C., you’re in for a real treat! This series really is amazing. I just finished the second one this week and I’m eagerly awaiting the third! 😉
I’ll remember making some of the best friends of my life – two other teachers that I team teach with. They’ve become family!
Your comments made me smile, Emily. What a sweet blessing for the year! There’s nothing quite as special as finding kindred spirits. Thanks for sharing! 😉
