Could this story be any more charming? I don’t think so! Once again, this author delivers a tale with plenty of heart and romance and wit. From the adorable small-town setting to the endearing cast of characters, Like Never Before was one very fun read.
You don’t necessarily have to read the first book in the Walker Family series to appreciate this novel, but previous readers will enjoy seeing familiar faces in this story. I love the Walker family and the way they relate to each other. Their family dynamics remind me of Julie Lessman’s books. You can’t help but fall in love with every single last one of them. π
I liked Logan and Amelia from the start. They’re both ambitious individuals with a passion for their work. Yet, they end up finding their true happiness in the Lord and in loving those around them. Their story gets sweeter with every turn of the page.
The hints of historical mystery added a neat twist to this contemporary novel, especially since I’m a historical fiction fan. π It was fun to follow Amelia and Logan along in their research for a winning article for the newspaper.
Like Never Before is one of those stories that makes readers smile and also makes them melt. It’s a tender story of new love, letting go, and trusting in God’s purpose for your life. It’s one of those books that’s easy to read and easy to love. π
This review is my honest opinion. Thanks to Bethany House Publishers and the author for my copy.

ABOUT THE BOOK:
Maple Valley became Amelia Bentleyβs haven after her heart and her dreams of a family were shattered. But her new life as a newspaper editor is shaken when the small-town paper is in danger of closing. Her one hope: A lead on an intriguing story that just might impress the new publisherβ¦if only she knew who he was.
After his biggest campaign success yet, widowed speechwriter Logan Walker now has the chance of a lifetimeβa spot on a presidential campaign. But his plans are interrupted when he finds out heβs inherited his hometown newspaper. He travels home intent on selling the paper and spending some much-needed time with his young daughter before making the leap into national politics.
But instead of a quick sale and peaceful break from his hectic career, Logan finds himself helping Amelia chase her story. Sheβs scrappy, but wounded. Heβs dependable, but lost. They may butt heads more than expected, but a series of leads on Maple Valleyβs quirky unsolved mystery is just the start of the sparks that fly in the office and in their hearts.
