Here to Stay - My Review | The Engrafted Word

This book should come with a few warnings for readers.  You may want to watch out for the following:  1… Plenty of sweet and romantic moments that may make you swoon.  2… A witty, Texas bull rider with regrets; a strong-willed, feisty woman with buried dreams and trust issues; and one loved little girl with pink cowboy boots who may just charm your socks off.  3… And a touching theme throughout that may – and most likely will – speak deeply to your heart. This story is absolutely adorable and was a delight to read.

Meant To Be Mine - My Review | The Engrafted WordUnique and irresistible from its very first sentence, Meant To Be Mine surprised me with its beginning and stayed a nice pace ahead of me as I read, keeping me hooked, happy, and curious for more.

While I had my suspicions of where the story was going, it twisted nicely and taught unexpected things along the way. I loved the sassy, unlikely pairing of these two hurt souls and how their paths just kept crossing. I loved his serious pursuit of correcting past wrongs and her determined spirit and strength in handling deep hurt and difficult changes. The sacrifices, emotions, and decisions the characters are faced with will bond them with many readers’ hearts without question.

The dreams and plans for our lives don’t always go according to plan. Our hearts are easily bruised and often broken. We all need healing and forgiveness. This heartfelt, endearing read deals with these difficult issues in a beautiful way while keeping things fun and refreshing. Meant To Be Mine is one of my favorite books I’ve read so far this year.

There’s nothing more I can say. Read it. And enjoy!

This review is my honest opinion. Thanks to Bethany House Publishers for my copy.

ABOUT THE BOOK:

Ty Porter has always been irresistible to Celia Park. All through high school–irresistible. When their paths cross again after college– still irresistible. This time, though, Ty seems to feel exactly the same way about Celia. Their whirlwind romance deposits them at a street-corner Las Vegas wedding chapel.

The next morning they wake to a marriage certificate and a dose of cold reality. Celia’s ready to be Ty’s wife, but Ty’s not ready to be her husband. He’s a professional bull rider, he lives on the road, and he’s long planned to settle down with the hometown girl he’s known since childhood.

Five and a half years pass. Celia’s buried her dreams so that she can afford to raise her daughter. Ty’s achieved all of his goals. Or thought he had, until he looks again into the eyes of the woman he couldn’t forget and into the face of the child he never knew he had.

How much will Ty sacrifice to win back Celia’s trust and prove to her that their spontaneous marriage can still become the love of a lifetime?
